Upcycle for Futures

This concept focuses on introducing the disposal aspect of the product life cycle and working it back into the design process. I have chosen to work with mens shirts, where I dyed them, reconstructed and edited the shape using the stand to create these 2 outfits. 18 mens shirts in total were used to create the outfits, saving them from landfill and heavily reducing pollution created in the process of making virgin fibres. The belt was also constructed using leather scraps from leather bins. The clothes were designed to have an androgynous feel to represent the male garments in which they are made from, because after all – this is a mans world?
