The UnBritish Museum is a campaign advocating for the repatriation of the British Museum’s ‘colonial loot’ to their
legitimate countries of origin. Especially since many artifacts were acquired through grave-digging, theft and defeat. Influenced by 1970s ‘tacky’ advertising, this project serves as a commentary on the British Empire’s crazed ‘stockpiling’ of treasures and the modern commodification of art.
