Living in the millennial era, my generation has experienced a dramatic shift in popular culture; one that differs greatly from our parents’ generation and the ancestry before them. This installation offers a visual inquiry into millennial popular culture; considering modern life through rose tinted spectacles. The work envisages a dystopian dreamscape setting that references the positives and negatives of contemporary digitalisation. The aesthetically pleasing, fun natured set design breathes life into a modernity, reflecting both the brilliance and sinister effects of new technologies on our society.
Life is a stage and technologies are our props.
