Innovation: Ama San

‘Ama San’ describes ‘sea women’ who are part of a Japanese tradition that ages over 2000 years old and enhances a sustainable method of fishing. The women are in their fifties and sixties and dive up to 20 metres to collect abalone, shells and seaweed. Today we are faced with industrialisation and overfishing. This garment is made from eco fibres which help to increase environmental protection.
