City Branding: Angers

This project focused on creating new branding and promotional materials for the French city of Angers. The solutions aimed to promote the unique selling points to the youthful population, large number of students and tourists.

Selling points were identified through the development of four categories, ‘Explore, Grow, Thrive and Spark’, and promoted separately through the final solutions. The visual style was influenced by French artist Matisse, the River Maine, and tapestries by local artist Jean Lurcat, including the bright block colours, and liquified shapes. The solutions include: A logo, typeface, AR posters, animation, app, website, bikes, signage, souvenirs, installations and trams.
