Architectural Plans

The connected network of forms have been extracted, reduced and then pieced together to make buildable shapes that have an industrial quality. The forms have been scaled up to fill an architectural space so that they become part of a designed network, such as gridlines or scaffolding.
The shapes represented appear as stackable blocks that could be pulled apart or pushed together. These physical actions solidify the space as a plan or concept that could be altered or rearranged, whilst still in this stage of construction.
The three ‘cut-out’ sculptures act as the pieces, or pointers to the designed network or board game that forms the backdrop, as if the space was a set or stage. This designed set is a visual representation of an architectural plan or mapping that is pre-emptive of a more permanent utopia.
